We’re looking for a strong leader to run the operations of our Guide Dog Services (GDS). This is a great opportunity to lead a service that directly enhances independence and choices for Blind Low Vision NZ clients across Aotearoa.

In this important role, you’ll blend operational leadership, service excellence and a strong people focus. You’ll ensure clients receive outstanding support while building a capable, cohesive and future‑ready function, optimising productivity.

You will lead the delivery of Guide Dog Services to achieve excellence in the client experience, provide engaged, people‑centred leadership across the GDS team, and cultivate a high‑performing, collaborative management group. You’ll also work closely with key organisational partners to ensure GDS operates smoothly, efficiently, and in full alignment with BLVNZ’s values and strategic goals.

You will be an experienced Operations or Services Manager who builds shared accountability and knowledge across the service through collaborative structures and processes. You will bring:

  • Strong leadership experience in operations or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build capability, lead change and foster high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a collaborative and client‑centred mindset.
  • Confidence in process improvement, service modelling, budget management, planning, risk oversight and continuous improvement.
