International Guide Dog Day: Wednesday 27th April 2022

International Guide Dog Day is celebrated on the last Wednesday in April each year. It marks the establishment of the International Federation of Guide Dog Associations on 26th April 1989. International Guide Dog Day is an opportunity to celebrate the work of guide dogs around the world and raise awareness of the importance of guide dog services to help people who are blind or have low vision live life on their terms.

International Guide Dog Day 2022 will take places on Wednesday 27th April. IGDF is encouraging all guide dog organisations to get involved and arrange local events to celebrate their fantastic work. If you are thinking of arranging an event, please let us know by contacting the IGDF Office. Please remember to take lots of photos at your event, and send these to us, so we can publish them here and in the July Visionary.

Images from International Guide Dog Day 2021 are featured below. You can also read about International Guide Dog Day 2021 events in the July 2021 issue of Visionary.
