Fondation romande pour chiens guides d’aveugles is a well known charity located in the heart of the French speaking part of Switzerland. We breed each year about 50 puppies who are placed with volunteer puppy raisers. Your job will be to enable these families to create a confident relationship with their puppies and help them to develop basic skills in excellent conditions.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is able to work independently as part of a team. The person we are looking for must have a professional attitude and respect the principles of confidentiality. They will be in charge of the programme for young dogs (9 weeks to 18 months), future guide dogs.
This includes
- Home visits to the volunteer families and future puppy raisers, as well as individual visits with the young dogs in town;
- Conducting information sessions for future puppy raisers and for the placement of puppies;
- Organizing and conducting basic education and socialisation classes;
- Organisation of family days;
- Reception of young dogs returning for training.
Your profile:
- Education and/or work experience in the field of adult education, in order to be able to achieve the key objectives;
- Experience in the use of databases and facility in reporting;
- Ability to develop professional relationships and comfort in managing client/volunteer expectations;
- Excellent communicator with strong social skills, able to generate positive relationships and influence outcomes;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to organize the workload with a high degree of independence and commitment;
- Possession of a category B driving licence.
Your assets :
- Qualification in this field obtained from a school recognised by IGDF.
- Experience/education in puppy and young dog training and socialization;
- Working language is French – good knowledge of German and English is an advantage.
